The Strength of a Triangle
Triangles are the strongest shape there is. Any weight placed on them is evenly distributed on all 3 sides. They represent geometric sturdiness; no matter how much weight you put on any side, it will not break. It’s resilient and we really admire that.
The orientation of the triangle carries meaning. A downward facing triangle represents feminine energy and it’s also the symbol for air and fire.
In Western society, equilateral triangles can have Christian meaning because the Christian God is a trinity; the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
A triangle is used in mathematics to represent delta; representing a difference or change. Love the symbolism of change and the power that comes from change.
Triangles show up in astronomy too in the triangular formation of 2 planets with the moon. I wish I knew this sooner as in June 2019 there were some stunning celestial triangular formations to be seen.
A triangle can be described as 3 sided with 3 angles. Ever noticed how things show up in 3’s? Mind, body + spirit, past present + future, 3 weekly goals, 3 burnt out light bulbs, small, medium + large, and the list can go on and on and on. Don’t forget that the 3rd time really is the charm. Athletic achievement is often awarded to first, second and third place finishers. These winners represent strength and resilience.
Let’s not forget about the union of 3 people. You know some famous trios; the Three Musketeers, Three Amigos, Three Stooges, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and don’t forget Snap, Crackle and Pop. Truth is, we all belong in a group of 3 somewhere in our lives and together we make strong pillars. Whether it’s a union of 3 friends, family members or colleagues, there is certainly strength in the power of three.
