The Meaning Behind Finding Dimes

There’s a funny thing about finding dimes. Once you start noticing them, they seem to turn up everywhere.

Under beds. In coat pockets. On sidewalks. At the cottage. Sometimes in places that make you wonder how they got there at all. And if you’re someone who keeps finding dimes, chances are you already know exactly what we’re talking about.

Over the years, we’ve heard from so many people who believe finding a dime can be a sign from a loved one, or simply a little reminder of someone they miss. Some keep every dime they find. Others remember exactly where they found a particular one. There are stories of dimes appearing at just the right moment, in unexpected places and sometimes over and over again.

We don’t know where the tradition started or why it became the dime. There are older stories about finding coins as little signs from people we’ve lost, but somewhere along the way the dime seems to have earned a following of its own.
