Mark the Moment - Make it Memorable

It’s June, and the end of school is just around the corner. Backpacks are getting messier, routines are loosening, and for a lot of us, it’s bringing up a swirl of emotions.

There’s something about this time of year that always feels a bit tingly. The days are getting longer, the temperature rises and so does our excitement and maybe a little bit of anxiety for summer break to begin.  Maybe your kiddo is finishing up elementary school. Maybe they’re headed into high school. Maybe they’re wrapping up grade 12 and getting ready to step into something totally new.

Whatever it looks like for your family, this month feels extra special. It’s a chance to pause and recognize the growing up that’s been happening right in front of us.

For us, it hit hard this week. We said goodbye to our son Hunter as he left for Banff, Alberta to work for the summer. He’s been away before, but never like this.  It will be the longest stretch we’ll go without seeing him. I kept it together until the airport, but the weight of that moment settled in as we said our goodbyes.

Before he left, I gave him a bracelet I had stamped with the GPS coordinates of our home here in Toronto. I didn’t make a big deal of it while fighting back the tears. I just thought it would be a subtle reminder, something he could wear that makes him feel connected to home while he's away.

I think that’s what this season is all about. It’s not just about celebrating the milestone, it’s about marking it in a way that preserves the moment once all the excitement passes.

If you’ve got someone in your life stepping into a new chapter, you might be wondering what to give them. Not just to say "congrats," but to say something more like "you’ve got this" or "I’m with you even when I’m not there."

Here are a few ideas for your graduate that might feel meaningful:

GPS Coordinates Bracelet
Stamp it with the location of home, school, or somewhere that shaped them. It’s subtle and timeless. Easy to wear, but filled with meaning.

Morse Code Bracelet
We use tiny beads to spell out a word or message in Morse code. It’s like a secret between you and them. Some words we’ve made lately: brave, begin, you got this.

Bar Necklace
Classic and personal. Add their name, initials, graduation year or even a quiet mantra they can carry into their next adventure.

Sweet Pendant
A single word, hand stamped. Something they’ll want to hold onto when things feel uncertain or exciting or both.

If you’re not sure what to stamp, here are a few words we've stamped lately that might spark something for you:

brave
stay curious
trust your path
you are enough
just begin
make it yours
go gently
shine
come back often
rooted
home

Let face it, kids these days don't need more stuff. What they’ll really remember is the feeling of being seen, loved, and that we believe in them with all our hearts.

So as June wraps up and these big celebrations get closer, I hope you find a way to mark the moment with a little keepsake they can carry with them into the next chapter.

And if you want help creating something extra special that holds all that love, I’m here.

With all the love and gratitude,
Trish
